Hydrodynamics of Thin Liquid Films Bounded by Viscoelastic Interfaces

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science
Abstract

A hydrodynamic model has been developed to describe the rate of drainage of an axisymmetric planeparallel horizontal film bounded by viscoelastic interfaces. The effects of interfacial tension gradients, interfacial viscocity, and interfacial mobility are discussed. The viscoelastic nature of the interfaces is shown to have a pronounced effect on the rate of film drainage.
