Abstract

This article summarizes some of the strategies used to improve fracture performance. The key to the successful application of these strategies is the selection of a specific strategy and fracture design for a specific well based on an analysis of its data. The development of 3-D hydraulic fracture propagation is crucial to the successful selection of these strategies in tight gas formation over a broad cross-section of tight gas sand assets with varying stress regimes and formation properties.
